The Cavalier Wrestling Club unites UVA’s Regional Olympic Training Center with a thriving K‑12 program. Resident athletes live, train, and mentor on Grounds while youth teammates sharpen their craft beside national contenders.
Our mission: recruit and resource Olympic-caliber athletes, elevate UVA Wrestling, and give Central Virginia families a world-class room to grow through discipline, courage, and humility.

Where We Train & How We Operate
LOCATION
UVA TRAINING GROUNDS
Practices take place at UVA training grounds at 300 Massie Rd in Charlottesville.
DESIGNATION
USA Wrestling RTC
CWC is sanctioned as a Regional Olympic Training Center, allowing approved collegiate, senior, and high-school athletes to train with UVA’s staff.
ORGANIZATION
501(c)(3) Non‑Profit
A board of parents, coaches, and supporters stewards fundraising, scholarships, and long-term club health.
SESSION OFFERINGS
Year-Round Training Windows
Fall, winter, and spring blocks keep K-12 athletes progressing alongside RTC residents and UVA partners.
SEPTEMBER - NOVEMBER
Fall Session
Pre-season rhythm focused on fundamentals, situational drilling, and conditioning before scholastic schedules kick off.
DECEMBER - FEBUARY
Winter Session
In-season sharpening with live goes, tournament prep, and RTC mentor pods.
MARCH - MAY
Spring Session
Post-season development plus freestyle / Greco exposure alongside resident athletes.

Athlete Conduct
Respectful, focused behavior keeps the room safe and productive.

Listen to coaches and attempt every drill with intent.

Treat partners with care; help them learn, don't distract them.

Use equipment properly and leave the space cleaner than you found it.
Parent Partnership
We love engaged families and set clear expectations for mat-side help.

Coordinate with staff before stepping on the mat to assist.

Hold a current USA Wrestling coach's card and compete required background checks.

During practice, keep conversations low so athletes stay locked in.
Athletes in Need
Finances should never block a child from wrestling.
